Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MNS)
Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are considered to be types of blood cancer that begin with an abnormal mutation in a stem cell in the bone marrow. The change leads to overproduction of any combination of white cells, red cells and platelets. They include myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia and have varying degrees of severity, treatment needs and life expectancy.
